Our Story
While we are new to the West Valley we are not new to horses. We previously owned and operated a large horse boarding stables and training facility with 50+ horses. We hope to use our experience to provide excellent equine services at a much smaller level for a more personal experience. Our ranch is a family run business by husband and wife team Bob and Katie alongside our children.
Horsemanship Training
I truly believe the start to being a great horseman/woman is understanding the horse's mind. Learning how to properly communicate will improve your relationship with your horse. It's never too late to go back to basics and rebuild a good foundation that will help you in many aspects of your riding experience.
Sharing the Love!
Our beginning horse riding lessons create a love for horses that is truly unique! Developing a bond with these large 4-legged animals help with so many aspects of a persons life. Building confidence and improving mental and physical health is to name a few. The bond between a rider and horse is amazing and I love to help create that connection and watch my students grow as riders.
Services
Beginner Lessons & Horsemanship Training
Sharing my love for horses with others is my passion. I have 15+years experience riding and working with these majestic beauties. I offer lessons for beginners and intermediate riders. Building a solid foundation from the ground up is necessary to a horse and rider. On the ground riders will learn about safety, proper horse care, grooming, tack, the importance of ground work, and much more. Learning the importance of balance and proper body position under the saddle is priority for a safe and fun ride. Before you know it you will be a confident and comfortable rider.
Boarding
West Desert Ranch is a full service horse care facility offering private boarding and complete care for your horse on a personal level. Rest assured your horses will be treated like our own.
Boarders have access to a large 160’ X 240’ roping arena, round pen, spacious turnouts, and access to trails right outside of the gate. Our barn boasts large stalls with a very generous 18’ x 100’ paddock! Mare motel stalls are fully covered with big 16’ x 30’ stalls. If a pasture is more your style we have great 35’ x 35’ paddocks with shelters. Major racing and roping arenas are only a short distance from our centrally located ranch for those that look to compete locally.
Board includes feeding 2x a day with grass, and alfalfa. Stalls are cleaned 7 days a week. Other services are available such as graining, blanketing, turnout, holding for vet/farrier and more. We are here to help provide the best experience for you and your horse.
